Interested educators are welcome to join our third web-based meetup and brainstorming session for Storychasers this Thursday, August 21st. The past two meet-ups have taken place at 7 pm US Central time, this time we're going to move our meeting time back to 8:00 - 9:00 pm US Central.

As we did for our August 6th brainstorm we'll meet via Ustream.tv and Skype. You can participate live by skyping into our call (we can have up to eight in the skype call at once) and also participate via the text chat in Ustream. Be sure you have Skype installed and

Check the start time in your local time zone by using this link from World Time Server. At the time our online meetup starts August 21st or a bit prior, log into the Ustream.tv channel for "Moving at the Speed of Creativity Live" to participate. You can participate via the Ustream text chat as well as (if desired) joining our live skype call.

I've created a wiki site on StoryChasers to facilitate collaboration and document sharing. Rather than setup a separate wiki site on PBwiki or Wikispaces, I've created this on our existing Storychasers.org domain to hopefully facilitate access on school content filters. (Some U.S. school districts block all PBwiki and Wikispaces sites.) This will also provide a good opportunity for project participants to learn about editing in MediaWiki, which is best known as the wiki engine used by WikiPedia.

We now have three different "content creation" options for educators interested in participating in Storychasers:

  1. After logging in to our main site (which you are visiting now) click CREATE CONTENT in the left sidebar and add a blog entry about a topic specific to your classroom activities or interest in StoryChasers.
  2. Choose to create a new FORUM entry to start a discussion about a StoryChasers topic. Comments can be added to both blog posts as well as forum posts, so discussions can take place either way, but forum posts may include questions which others want input on.
  3. Create a free account on the StoryChasers wiki and add to resources and ideas there. The wiki is the place where we can work out project guidelines, resource lists, etc. since it is a collaborative document creation space.

In addition to these content creation options, educators are invited to join different StoryChaser "groups" which focus on specific story topics or themes.

Hope you can join us Thursday on Ustream and Skype for our meetup!
